What do these mean for you?

  • It means that our patients are guaranteed the safest, most effective quality medical healthcare. JCI is an independent, non-profit organization that works with hospitals, other health care organizations, health systems, agencies, and academic institutions to achieve and ensure the best performance in patient care. Founded in 1994, the Joint Commission is by far the largest and most distinguished global leader among accrediting organizations in the United States. It has evaluated over 20,000 health care organizations and programs. Extending from the Joint Commission, JCI was established to further expand high standard quality and safety practices around the globe. Up to date, it has accredited over 600 organizations in 60 different countries.

  • In order to be accredited by JCI, an organization must comply with rigorous sets of clinical and managerial standards evaluations, which include:

  • In Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's case, our hospital also underwent another set of academic medical center standard evaluations that were newly applied by JCI since 2013, including medical education program and clinical research program standards.

    • Accredited by the OCED principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) (Last renewed in 2009).
